How to Re-Book a Courier Pickup with TUNL

Need to re-book a pickup? No worries—we’ve got your back. Whether a courier didn't arrive or you had to step away, here's how to easily reschedule your collection.



Important Note on Exporter Details



If you plan to ship using your South African ID number (instead of an exporter code), please make sure the name on your TUNL account matches your legal name — exactly as it appears on your ID.
For example, if your name is Samantha Cross and your business is called Shippo, but you're exporting under your personal ID, you’ll need to sign up as Samantha Cross — not Shippo. That way, your export documents and ID align properly.

❗️ If you're using your ID, you cannot ship under your business name.

You'll also need to present a copy of your ID when the courier arrives for collection.

This is non-negotiable and required for customs clearance.
Following this process helps prevent delays and ensures your shipment clears export control smoothly.


🚚 When Should You Re-Book a Pickup?



Things don’t always go to plan—and that’s okay. You might need to re-book a pickup if:

The driver missed your collection window
You weren’t available when they arrived
You updated your shipment after booking
Whatever the reason, we’ll help you get things sorted fast.

🔁 How to Re-Book a Pickup in TUNL



Here’s a quick step-by-step to re-booking your collection:

Log in to your TUNL dashboard
Go to your “Shipments” tab
Select the shipment that needs rebooking
Click “Re-book Pickup” and confirm your new preferred date and time
Once confirmed, we’ll send the updated request to the courier. You’ll get an email notification when it’s scheduled.

💡 Pro tip: When a driver collects your parcel, ask for their phone number. That way, if your collection is missed, you’ve got a direct line—especially helpful in outlying pickup areas.


🕐 Pickup Timing & Cut-Offs



To avoid delays, aim to re-book your pickup before 14:00 (2PM) on the same day. After that, your request will be scheduled for the next business day.
If you book a collection for a window like 9:00–12:00, keep in mind this is a preferred time, not a guarantee. Carriers service different areas at different times daily, so flexibility helps avoid frustration.

💰 Outlying Areas: Know Before You Book



Our couriers charge extra for pickups in outlying areas. To avoid delays and surprise fees, you’ve got options:

To avoid the pick-up fee and delays, you can book the shipment using TUNL’s “from address”, and then send your parcel to us.
Drop it off at our Cape Town warehouse
Try our new PostNet drop-off service—easy, fast, and reliable
Choose what works best for your business, especially if you're based outside major cities.

📦 Postnet Drop-Off
You may drop off your parcel at any of the ~500 PostNets nationwide. (Store Locater)

How it works:
Let us know you’d like to use the drop-off service and tell us which PostNet branch you’ll be using.
We’ll send you a unique reference code.
Simply take your parcel to the PostNet, give them the code, and you’re done! No additional label printing or packaging required on your side.

📦 Economy Shipments (To the USA)


Using our Economy service to ship to the US? Here's what you need to know:
Economy is drop-off only
You can courier your parcel to us or drop it off at our Cape Town warehouse

FAQs


Can I change the pickup address?


Not right now. If you need to change the address, cancel the shipment and create a new one with updated details.

What if I missed multiple pickup attempts?


Just re-schedule as usual through your dashboard. If it happens often, get in touch so we can sort it out with the courier.
